Mert Birol was born in 10.06.1994. He started with his music life in 2011 with his high school music teacher Yasin Akar. In 2013, he took classical guitar lessons from Servet Sarıkaya and solfeggio, sensation lessons from Pelin Ulutürk for 1 year. He was accepted to Avcılar Municipal Conservatory to study Oud in 2014. He took Turkish music theory and oud lessons from Burak Özdemir for 4 years. During this 4-year period, he developed himself in many fields by taking lessons such as Solfeggio (dictation, bona, harmony), Turkish music repertoire, and folk music repertoire.
Between 2014-2017, he gave one-on-one classical guitar and pop guitar lessons to nearly 200 different students. He continued both his education and stage performances until 2018. During that time, he met many different people, music groups, projects and played for different recordings.
He graduated from Avcılar Municipality Conservatory in 2018; then succeed to get classes for Classical Guitar at Yıldız Technical University at the end of a 1-year study with Murat Akça. He took lessons from Bülent Ergüden for 4 years. He continued his studies on Oud too for 4 years with Bekir Şahin Baloğlu. The purpose of this whole educational journey was to improve himself intellectually and understand many musical disciplines. Throughout his education life, he had the chance to learn cultures such as Folk music, Classical Western music, Jazz music, Pop music and Turkish music from the bests of these fields. He took part in more than 1000 events, stages and recordings by 2022.
